We were nervous and more than anxious to discover that our predecessors put 2,000 miles per month on their truck traversing really potholed roads. Jackie has a hard time sitting through Church with her back fusion, and we really worry that she will be able to withstand the pounding that kind of travel will require. We know that
Heavenly Father is in charge and is aware of our situation, so we shall see. We have a lunch date with our president on Thursday here at the MTC and an appointment with the back surgeon next Tuesday and the Physical Therapist next Wednesday. Do you think they can make a plaster cast that will sustain 18 months of punishing roads? We hope so!
We are getting more and more excited about serving the people in Kenya. The girls we've met here from there are just darling. The stories we read about the spirituality and sacrifice of the members are inspiring. We hope and pray we'll be able to serve there. We are busy teaching Elder Lee and Sister Sue Wright, our replacements here at the MTC. They are wonderful people and will do a great job of loving the people here. We have absolutely no reservations about leaving this job, which we have loved)in their very capable hands.
